Unzip it

3)     Use the prompts  that the “installer” leads you through.

4)     One you’ve unzipped the file you will see a folder named “Client”. Click on it. Or just click on the Post Nuke Icon on your desktop.

Run Active X Runtime files Library Files These are files which run the game itself.

5)     If your computer says that some files are “missing” you might need to download them, and register them ( right click on them and choose register)

6)     You can find any missing files at the Ascentive Library files website…..Missing Library Files - Ascentive Support

7)     You might need to find a file called “MSINET.OCX  Right click on it and “Register OCX Control”.

The IP Config

12) When you go to log in, the game Client actually “logs on” to a Server, so you must be online to play it.

13) The IP Address must be correct in the IP Config. This tells it exactly where to log onto The correct IP Address should always come with the download. This is because I use a service called “No IP’ which automatically corrects it whenever it changes.

14) So put the correct IP Address will always be   postnuke.no-ip.biz

15)  If the server is on at that time there will be a little message at the bottom right that says “server online”

Make a New Account

16) To start playing you need to establish an account, this is where your Account name and Password are inserted.

17) Choose your password wisely! Don’t use a password thats on another game or on your bank account!

18) Write down your account name and password and put it in a secure lodcation where you won’t lose it.

Make a Character, and Log in (this is a separate step from making an account!)

19) Then you will see a window where you must login with your player. But you haven’t made a player yet so choose “New”

20)  A window will pop up where you can choose what type of player you want to make and what his name will be. This name will automatically appear in the window the next time you log in. You can make up to 3 players per account, you will see 3 lines where you can choose them from. But for now we will concentrate on getting the one player to get started.

21) If all has gone well you have made your new player and his name will appear in the window. Highlight him and click on “Log In”

22)  If successful you will see your guy waking up in the Fallout Shelter where all players start. Now you can continue, read the Playing Guide to see the method for playing.

Hit the arrows button and the "Shift" button on your computers keyboard at the same time - this makes your character Run

To pick up an item

Move your guy over that item then click "Enter" it will then be in your inventory. There are miscellaneous items scattered throughout the world, but for the most part they are dropped by monsters you kill.

Controls

These serve different functions in the game.

Inventory - allows you to view and use your inventory

Psy Ops – Top secret magic spells that you can cast

Plus signs - allows you to choose which skill of your character to gain experience in. Its not like Runescape which levels you automatically. But rather you have to click on these plus signs periodically, then choose the skill to add your "accumulated skillpoints" to, Choose either Strength, defense, magic, or speed and the skill of your choice will be moved upward. The higher your skills the stronger you are and the better armor and weapons you can use. (Points are used for stats, it's right there on the play screen. When you level up you get a certain amount of points based on a script (by default it's 1 a level unless your speed is very high), and then you just click on the little + buttons near the stat to spend the point in that stat)

Guild Status - lists what Guild you are in, there are none set us yet in the game. I’ll let you know if we use this.

Settings – with this menu you can turn the Music on or off, sounds on or off, life bar on or off for both you and NPC’s, and also set the number of lines visible for your chat box

Equipped – will show what items you are currently waering or what weapons you are wielding

Players online - allows you to view who is currently playing the game

Log Out - allows you to log out of the game

To fight

Move your guy up against a monster and hit the "Control" button on your keyboard at the same time. This makes your character attack the NPC (monster) in the square you are facing. If he happens to be “friendly, he will merely talk to you, not fight.

The General Idea of the Game

The general idea of the game is to explore and kill monsters and get whatever loot they drop, You may also encounter a puzzle or a quest that you might want to try to solve.

 Laser Guns

Purchase a Laser Gun and wield it. Face the monster you want to attack and then hit the “ctrl” button to shoot.

Psy-Ops

This is similar to magic. First go to the Black Ops Center and buy one of the Psy Ops Manuals and “Use it to learn a spell. Then left click on a mosnter to “target” it. The click on the Psy Ops control at the top left. Choose a Psy Attack and then click on cast, your Psy attack will be directed at the mosnter. Repeat until the monster is dead or your Psy Energy runs out. Psy Energy refreshes by itself over time, or you can drink some Psy Energy drink to restore it.

To eat and get healed

Obtain some food item from the ground in the game, a monster drop, or a shop. Click on "Inventory ". Then a window will appear on the left. Highlight a food, ex. Edible Mushroom, and click on "Use it" and you'll eat and get healed a bit.Or simply “double left click” on it and you’ll eat it.

If you die

You will lose “experience”. Experience is important because it is how you level up.  If you happen to be in a Safe Zone or a Penalty free zone you won’t lose anything at all. All the shops are “Safe Zones”   Also, whenever you die, you will respawn in a hospital bed in the Fallout Shelter

To wield a weapon or wear some Armor or a hat

Click on the word near the top left that says "Inventory". Then a window will appear on the left side. Highlight a weapon or a helmet or a shield. Then click on "Use it" and you'll wear or wield that item. Different armor and weapons might require different “strength” levels to wear or wield them

To pick up an Item

Move your guy over the item and hit "ENTER"

Storage Banks

The Eclipse Game engine allows 50 items to be stored in a bank. If you need to get rid of items simply go to any shop and click on the “Sell Items” button to sell them for  “Credits”  which are course the currency of the Post Nuke game.

To buy something in a shop

Go into the shop of your choice. Walk up close to the counter.  Then a “trade” window will pop up. Highlight the item you want to buy and click the button that says "Trade". If you have enough money the item will be bought and it will say..."trade successful" The item will now be in your inventory.

To Sell something in a Shop

You can sell items in any shop. Go up to the counter and a window will pop-up. Then click on “Sell Items” and your inventory will pop up. Nearly every item can be sold in this way to earn credits, the amount you get is lested near the bottom left. This is nice because you can earn money to purchase expensive items this way.

To use a KEY

Buy or pick up a key in the game. From the name of the key figure out where that key is to be used...( ex. Tomb Key is used at a  tomb)  Stand up near the area where the door is. Click on your inventory chest and highlight the key in your inventory list. Click on the left where it says "use item". The door you are standing next to will open. Sometimes you will also need to use the key to come back through the other way too. Some items are used as keys that don’t look like keys! Such as the Pledian Shops key (looks like a credit card) and the Geiger counter ( looks like a Geiger counter)

To move to another Map

Go to what seems to be the end of a road, or a door, cave opening, boat, portal, etc....and wait 1 second. Your guy will appear in the next Map where that door/cave/boat leads. If you guy freezes up when moving to another map ( this happens sometimes I dunno why) just log out then back in again.

To teleport

Go to the Teleportal and walk into it. It will warp you to some specific area indicated by a sign nearby so you know where your going.

To read a sign

Move your character up to the front of a sign. Hit the "ENTER" button on your keyboard and a the signs message will appear in your text box. Or in some cases the sign will automatically show up in your chat box.

If you get stuck or frozen up

Try     logging out and back in     again sometimes that works
